People say when a cardinal appears in your yard it’s a visitor from heaven. I remember I was at a show once with this painting on display, and a man approached the booth. As soon as he saw the cardinal, he quickly turned his head away as if to hide his reaction. I knew he must have lost someone close to him - he wasn’t very old.
