I often paint cows, they model so nicely along the rural roads and this one was out on a wet morning, sitting in the fenced field. I love how the blonde hair clumped and the cool air fogged her breath. This is a larger cow portrait than I usually do but I wanted to show more detail, something I often fudge over with broader strokes on the usual 8x10s or 9x12s. She makes me smile.
